No Dead Space 2 for PC?

What the hell? Idiots.

Alan Wake for PC Finally Laid to Rest

“Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience “Alan Wake” was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive.”

Well that’s just dandy. Forget my last post, I hope this game fails so hard. Oh, and I don’t even want to comment the quoted paragraph because the comment would consist of a litany of expletives, and my blog is not labeled as NSFW. ************* ******.

Remedy explains why Alan Wake isn't coming to PC

“Saying that Alan Wake is best played of a sofa with 5.1 surround and a big TV screen, I think is more of a preference than anything else,” states franchise head Oskari Häkkinen. “We’re not going out there to say that PC gamers can’t enjoy it from their own PC set-up. We’re certainly not saying that. We have a strong heritage in PC gaming as well.

“But, frankly, we’re a small studio. We’re 50 people, and being a small studio, it makes a lot more sense for us to focus on one platform. Currently we’re fully focused on the Xbox version, and [as for] what the future holds, we haven’t got anything to announce, and we haven’t thought that far right now. We’re fully crunching towards the Xbox 360 version.”

That’s a more honest excuse than the PR nonsense Microsoft pulled out of its arse. It likely won’t satisfy the angry PC gamers, not least because Alan Wake was originally developed for PC, but it’s better than being lied to.

I’m still disappointed, but at least I’m no longer feeling insulted and patronised.

Analysis: When Console To PC Conversions Go Awry

But these good reviews of Ninja Blade? Bizarre. I cannot understand them. I’ve yet to read a review that doesn’t at least mention the sloppiness of the conversion, but I have read a couple that suggest it doesn’t really matter. Try as I might, I can’t get behind that. It’s a PC game that doesn’t work properly with PC hardware. Whatever Ninja Blade’s merits as a game may be, it utterly fails as a product.

Heav’n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn’d, Nor Hell a Fury, like a PC Gamer scorn’d.

The Witcher 2 dated, detailed
